"The Winter's Tale"
(William Shakespeare)

Directed by Andrea Mellis

FestSpielHaus, St. Pölten, Austria
5th March 1997

A LORD
Beseech your highness, call the queen again!
ANTIGONES
Be certain what you do, sir, lest your justice
Prove violence, in the which three great ones suffer -
Yourself, your queen, your son.......
It is for you we speak, not for ourselves
Who are abused....
LEONTES
......Cease, no more!
You smell this business with a sense so cold
As is a dead man’s nose....
Act II, scene 1

He hath promised you more than that, or there be liars.
MOPSA
He hath paid you all he promised you. Maybe he hath paid you more, which will shame you to give him again.

Is there no manners left among maids?
